Frequently Asked Questions
How much do sessions cost?
My fees are generally set at $200/ individual therapy session and between $250-$300/couples therapy session. I accept check or debit/credit cards. I offer limited sliding scale spots to clients interested in long-term therapy who cannot accommodate the full fee. If you are interested in working together and are unable to pay my $200 fee, please reach out to learn about sliding scale options.
I am not in-network with any insurance companies at this time. Please see the insurance statement below and check with your provider to see if you have "out-of-network" benefits if you are seeking insurance reimbursement.
Using Out-of-network benefits: Clinical Services may be covered in part or in full by your health insurance plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking your provider these questions:
Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
What is my "co-insurance"?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per session?
Is approval required from my primary care doctor?
In instances where out-of-network benefits are covered, you will be responsible for payment at the time of service and your insurance will reimburse your expenses.
Benefits to Paying out of Pocket:
Insurance companies mandate a diagnosis, oversee your health records, and may seek access to your information while in therapy. They also may limit your coverage to a set number of therapy sessions per year, regardless of what you're going through. When considering the implications of using insurance, paying out-of-pocket is a better fit for some.
Do you offer in person sessions?
At this time, I do not provide in person therapy. All sessions are held remotely over Zoom.
How often do we meet?
I typically meet with clients weekly, as consistency is key in effective therapy outcomes. Some of my clients will move to meeting every other week, typically after a year of weekly, consistent work together.
What does culturally responsive therapy mean?
As a culturally responsive therapist, I respond to and center your cultural identities as we explore you unique, lived experience in therapy together. I define culture as any group with shared beliefs and experience. This can include someone’s ethnicity, racial identity, gender or sexual identity, income level, disability, body size, etc.
I approach each person’s experience with a sense of cultural humility, or a knowledge that I am not an expert in anyone’s cultural background or community experience, even if we happen to share a cultural identity.
